The Fulton drill press table is a full 1-3/8" thick and is laminated on the top and bottom to keep moisture out. The extra thick table top serves a few important purposes. First, is that it helps absorb much of the vibration which provides you with a stable working surface. Second, it allows for a unique track mounting system that lets you move the table into most any position needed. Many after market tables don't allow for this kind of adjustability.
